Treasurer
Every successful organization runs on sound financial management. As Treasurer, you'll be responsible for the fiscal health of YoungShip Texas—managing accounts, tracking revenue, coordinating with sponsors, and providing strategic budget guidance to the board. This role requires precision, confidentiality, and the ability to translate financial data into actionable insights. It's an opportunity to demonstrate leadership, gain nonprofit financial experience, and play a critical role in sustaining and growing the organization.

Core Responsibilities

Oversee and manage bank accounts, PayPal, and POS systems; reconcile digital payments and manage fund transfers.

Securely manage banking assets, including physical cards and digital credentials, ensuring absolute confidentiality and data integrity.

Ensure timely payment of maintenance dues, tax filings, and non-profit compliance fees.

Partner with the President to create annual budgets; provide consistent updates on the organization’s financial health, cash flow, and the status of current vs. projected revenue.

Track sponsorship funding and issue sponsor invoices in coordination with the Sponsorship Co-Chairs.

Digitize and archive all receipts and financial records via shared cloud folders.

Track sponsorship funding in real-time. Share invoices with sponsors while coordinating closely with the Sponsorship Co-Chairs to flag pending invoices or payment issues.

Manage on-site payments at events and participate in monthly Board strategy sessions.

Provide concise financial summaries and actionable insights on cash flow and projected revenue to the Board.
Qualifications & Skills

Currently employed in a financial/accounting role.

Proficiency with PayPal, Banks/POS systems, and cloud-based accounting (Excel/Google Sheets).

Absolute commitment to maintaining the confidentiality of member data and financial records.

Ability to translate complex financial data into actionable insights for non-financial board members.
